Saint Michael Prayer

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

History of this prayer: On 13 October, 1884, after celebrating Holy Mass, Pope Leo XIII saw a frightening vision of satan's attack on the Church and the world. In response to this vision, he composed this prayer.

Our Lady, Queen of Angels

August Queen of Heaven!
Sovereign Mistress of the angels!
Thou who from the beginning
hast received from God
the power and mission to crush the head of Satan,
we humbly beseech thee
to send thy holy Legions,
that, under thy command
and by thy power,
they may pursue the evil spirits,
encounter them on every side,
resist their bold attacks
and drive them hence into the abyss of eternal woe.
Amen.

History of this prayer: On 13 January, 1864, Father Louis Cestac had a vision of devils causing havoc and destruction throughout the world. He then had a vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary who told gave him this prayer to combat the powers of darkness.
